Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron are rumored to be in talks for Star Wars Episode VII.
News broke this morning that Ryan Gosling, who will soon be back in cinemas for Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives, has met Disney to discuss taking on the role of Luke Skywalker’s son, in Star Wars Episode VII.
The first of 5 planned movies will be directed by J.J. Abrams, the director behind the hugely successful Star Trek reboots.
The news was first revealed via Latino Review and has subsequently spread across the web warning fans that whilst the publication has a strong record of accurately reporting breaking film stories the story has not been official confirmed by either the actor or the studio.
It has also been stated that Zac Efron (The Paperboy, 2012) has also being approached by the house of mouse, which brought up Lucas Film for a staggering $4.5billion in 2012.
It was previously announced that Michael Arndt, who was responsible for the script for Toy Story 3 (2010), is writing the first installment in the franchise. Reports have stressed that rumors concerning J.J. Abrams abandoning the film due to his relocation to London are unfounded.
The first of the five Star Wars films will be released in 2015.
